Getting started

Getting started for brands

Set up your workspace, fund your wallet and publish your first brief.

Updated November 4, 2026

This guide takes a brand from sign-up on Kocolink to a first hired creator. Plan for about an hour, most of it spent on the brief.

1. Apply for a brand workspace

Brand workspaces are reviewed before they are activated. Open the app, choose Start as a brand, and submit the application with your company details. When it is approved you can sign in and invite teammates to the workspace.

The workspace interface is available in English and Chinese. Switch language from the top bar at any time.

2. Know the two balances

Your workspace has two separate balances:

  • AI credits pay for AI actions such as product research, viral breakdowns, brief drafting, translation and AI match reviews. Every action shows its estimated credit cost before it runs. If an action fails, the credits are returned.
  • Wallet (USD) pays creators. Money in the wallet is moved into escrow when you hire someone for a paid collaboration. Credits and wallet money never mix.

3. Top up the wallet

Paid collaborations need a funded wallet. During the pilot, top-ups are made by bank transfer:

  1. Open Wallet and choose Add funds.
  2. Transfer the amount to the account shown, using the reference code the app gives you (it looks like CM-XXXXXXXX).
  3. Upload the transfer receipt and submit.

Our operations team confirms the deposit and the balance appears in your wallet. You can cancel a deposit request until it has been processed. Gifted (product-only) collaborations do not need wallet funds.

4. Create and publish a brief

Open Briefs and choose New brief. The wizard has six steps: product, viral references, AI draft, requirements and terms, languages and preview, and publish. You can save a draft at any step. See Writing a brief for what makes a brief work.

When you publish, choose who can see it:

  • Open pool: any eligible creator can apply.
  • Invite only: only creators you invite.
  • Both.

5. Review applicants and hire

Applications arrive ranked by match score, with the reasons for each score. You can shortlist, reject, or open a pre-hire thread to ask questions. When you hire, the fee moves from your wallet into escrow for that order. If the wallet is short, the app shows how much is missing.

What happens next

The creator produces the draft and submits it for review. Continue with Delivery, revisions and approval.
