Verifying your TikTok account

Prove you own a TikTok account with a one-time code in your bio.

Updated November 4, 2026

Verification shows brands that the account you apply with is really yours. It takes a few minutes.

Steps

  1. In Profile, under TikTok accounts, add your handle. You can type @yourhandle or paste your profile URL.
  2. Choose Verify. You get a one-time code that looks like CM-XXXXXX.
  3. Open TikTok, edit your profile, and paste the code anywhere in your bio. Save.
  4. Back in the app, choose Check now.

When the check succeeds, the account shows a Verified badge with your profile photo, follower count, average views and engagement rate.

Good to know

  • The code is valid for 24 hours. If it expires, choose Get a new code. The code is only shown once, so if you reload the page you also need a new one.
  • You can add up to 5 accounts to one profile.
  • An account can only be verified by one creator. If someone else has already verified it, the check fails with “handle taken”. Contact support if you believe this is a mistake.
  • After a successful check you can remove the code from your bio.
  • Checks are rate limited (a few per hour per account). If you see a “try again later” message, wait and retry.

If the check fails

Message What to do
Code not found Make sure the whole code is in your bio and the bio is saved. Changes can take a minute to appear.
Account not found Check the spelling of the handle, and that the account is public.
Handle taken The account is verified by another creator profile. Contact support.
