Verification shows brands that the account you apply with is really yours. It takes a few minutes.
Steps
- In Profile, under TikTok accounts, add your handle. You can type
@yourhandleor paste your profile URL. - Choose Verify. You get a one-time code that looks like
CM-XXXXXX. - Open TikTok, edit your profile, and paste the code anywhere in your bio. Save.
- Back in the app, choose Check now.
When the check succeeds, the account shows a Verified badge with your profile photo, follower count, average views and engagement rate.
Good to know
- The code is valid for 24 hours. If it expires, choose Get a new code. The code is only shown once, so if you reload the page you also need a new one.
- You can add up to 5 accounts to one profile.
- An account can only be verified by one creator. If someone else has already verified it, the check fails with “handle taken”. Contact support if you believe this is a mistake.
- After a successful check you can remove the code from your bio.
- Checks are rate limited (a few per hour per account). If you see a “try again later” message, wait and retry.
If the check fails
| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| Code not found | Make sure the whole code is in your bio and the bio is saved. Changes can take a minute to appear. |
| Account not found | Check the spelling of the handle, and that the account is public. |
| Handle taken | The account is verified by another creator profile. Contact support. |
| Verification unavailable | Our data service is temporarily unavailable. Try again later; nothing is lost. |
